Sustainable Architects/Engineers In Leeds

Today my cold(?) has brought me the inconvenience of not being able to hear a damn thing, so be grateful this is a blog not a podcast or I would be SHOUTING.

Leeds Environmental Design Associates "Our mission is to design and deliver great buildings that respect the environment and are a joy to use." Below is an image of one of their projects; Queen Margaret's School Theatre, which uses natural ventilation and low-energy lighting.

Faber Maunsell is an international building, transportation and environment consultancy with an office in Leeds, who "...recognise that our clients and our people expect (them) to consider social and environmental as well as economic issues in all the work that (they) do..." They offer summer work placements for students, such as this one. By the looks of things, it is too late to apply for this, but I actually know someone who works there as a graduate engineer, so I could speak to him about possibilities. There isn't much in the way of projects examples on their site.

To be supplemented...

Today I am listening to Shara Worden, aka My Brightest Diamond, an experimental multi-instrumentalist from New York, who creates what she describes as an 'avant-rock' sound. I've been listening to a lot of classical music recently, as well as artists, like Shara Worden, who affect pop music with classical influences and arrangements. I just wish my auditory senses were fully functioning, as everything sounds muted!
