Shelfari

Christian told me today of a site called Shelfari, what could be described as a literary Facebook or perhaps just a Bookbook. Online networking has never provided me with much social stimulation, conversations are largely limited to the most banal of subjects and written with infuriatingly bad grammar, but a pre-ordained commonality would definitely help matters. If you look at it from an anthropologist's point of veiw, all hobbies and interests are simply social lubricants..I digress..

See my shelf. At the risk of sounding faintly ridiculous, I like to look back on the covers of previously read books as I do the faces of old friends. I spent a great many hours in their company and departed the best ones with a certain lamentation.
