I like finding interesting podcasts. It makes a change from music, listening to which in public always makes me feel slightly uncomfortable. The only way to survive in our society is with a facial expression of complete blase. How am I supposed to achieve this image of 'cool' when I have unashamed emotion pouring into my ears? Jeff Buckley on the bus? Mars Volta in the Merrion Centre? Cringe. Sometimes I select suitably monotonous 'walking music', such as Beck or The Postal Service*, but even then, I might start nodding my head or humming. Tres embarrassant! So I prefer spoken word.
*Do not misinterpret me here, I like this music very much. Also, I do talk a lot of shit sometimes.
