Final Year

From now on I think I ought to reserve this blog solely for matters of my course and what will proceed it, in terms of my career blah blah blah. But before I do this, I will share a few things of interest.

A lecture by a bloke called Steve Rambam, about Internet privacy and the corporate disregard of it.

Cinemageddon, a great niche torrent site for those who are partial to trashy sci-fi, horror and the like. There is even a dedicated dystopian section, although I have been informed that many of these are duds.

Also filmic, I discovered a while ago a podcast called 'Left Field Cinema'. Despite the title, it eschews mainstream without coming across too esoteric. There was a good podcast about Julio Medem (Sex and Lucia) a while ago.

Jeffrey Lewis
! I saw him at the Brudenell last night, and, as I so earnestly told Matt on the walk home, I think he is great. I really like his album of Crass songs.. for people who don't really enjoy listening to Crass but like the politicised lyrics. However, my favourite sentiment is this: someone, somewhere, who maybe only glanced at you once, may have written an entire song about you. How nice! He didn't suggest that the song could be negative though..

What to Eat Now is a BBC programme about seasonal eating, presented by lovely posh boy Valentine Warner. Quite an emphasis on meat though, the eating of which I am still ambivalent about. I do have to say my that favourite telly chef is the guy from River Cottage.
